Tests for introduction of 15-minute imbalance settlement period and 15-minute products on the Intraday market segment

Dear market participants,

The tests for introduction of 15-minute imbalance settlement period and 15-minute products on the Intraday market segment held by ESO EAD and IBEX EAD will continue in June and July as per the published instructions.

The extension of the testing period aims at providing more complete information to all market participants about the changes in the electricity market operation as a result of the introduction of 15-minute imbalance settlement period and 15-minute products on the Intraday market segment and results from the need to adapt the automatic systems used by market participants in the trading and settlement process as well as the considerably larger volume of information to be exchanged, processed and recorded.

We request all market participants to actively join the tests by sending real-time data in the test environments of the respective systems and network operators to send profile data from the metering devices with 15-minute resolution so that data which is as realistic as possible can be generated from the test settlement and all parties involved to be able to make their analyses.

Following a meeting at the Energy and Water Regulatory Commission (EWRC) held on 31.05.2022, the provisional date to simultaneously launch the 15-minute imbalance settlement period and 15-minute products on the Intraday market segment is 1.10.2022 (delivery day). Further instructions related to the tests are published on the website of ESO at the following link: https://www.eso.bg/fileObj.php?oid=3582
