Open letter of European NEMOs

European NEMOs call for deletion of a provision in the current review of the European Electricity Market Design which paves the way for introduction of a Single Legal Entity for the Market Coupling Operator function. In an open letter they state that such a step towards centralization of market coupling operations in Europe not only contradicts the principles of proportionality and subsidiarity but lacks any cost-benefit analysis and fails to take into account the disruptive effects on the efficiency of the electricity market.
