IBEX and the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration to jointly develop educational initiatives for the power market

Independent Bulgarian Energy Exchange (IBEX) and the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski have signed an agreement for cooperation. They will partner in the education of students in the fields of power exchange market and power trading as of the start of the new academic year in the autumn.

‘It is an important mission for us to contribute with knowledge and practical experience to the education of future specialists.  We are convinced that the synergy between the business expertise of our team and the academic foundations which the lectures from the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration build will provide highly-qualified professionals for our sphere,’ Konstantin Konstantinov, CEO of IBEX said.

Dr. Atanas Georgiev, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration and director of the Master’s program Power Markets and Services, commented.

Pursuant to the arrangements IBEX and the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration will discuss changes to the disciplines taught in the Bachelor and Master’s programs in accordance with the current needs of the business, including the introduction of new courses and specialties. Experts from the Power exchange will present real practical case studies and will discuss including them in the educational process. They will also deliver practically-oriented presentations about the power exchange market and power trading. IBEX also commits to providing student traineeships and visits, supporting career orientation and motivation of the students from the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration. The two institutions will hold joint specialized trainings, round tables, conferences and other events suited to the practical needs of the business, including postgraduate qualification at the university.
